Der Kaufmannszug aus dem 16. Jahrhundert verweist auf die Stellung N\u00fcrnbergs als mittelalterliche Handelsstadt, von der aus Waren in die Welt geliefert wurden. Die Ostfassade zeigt einen Kaufmannszug des 16. Jahrhunderts. Der Spruch darunter \u201eN\u00fcrnberger Tand geht durch alle Land\u201c bezieht sich auf N\u00fcrnbergs Qualit\u00e4tswaren, wie Spielzeug und Erzeugnisse des Kleinmetallgewerbes. Der Kaufmannszug macht deutlich, dass N\u00fcrnberg im Mittelalter eines der bedeutendsten Wirtschaftszentren Europas war.<\/p>\n<p>Die S\u00fcdseite (Waaggasse) versah Kellner mit einer Darstellung, die den N\u00fcrnberger Fernhandel symbolisiert. Zwei wohlhabende Kaufleute halten eine Waage, in deren Schalen ihre Gesch\u00e4ftsb\u00fccher gewogen werden. The eastern fa\u00e7ade shows a merchants&#8216; procession of the 16th century. The saying below, &#8222;Nuremberg trinkets travel all over the world&#8220; refers to Nuremberg&#8217;s quality goods, such as toys and products of the small metal industry. The merchants&#8216; procession makes it clear that Nuremberg was one of the most important economic centres in Europe in the Middle Ages.<\/p>\n<p>The south side (Waaggasse) was decorated by Kellner with a painting symbolising Nuremberg&#8217;s long-distance trade. Two wealthy merchants holding a pair of scales, in the bowls of which their accounts are weighed. An inscription refers to the ethic principles of the &#8222;honourable merchant&#8220;; a guideline that is still part of the statutory mandate for the work of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry
