Wirklichkeit: Zum ersten Mal k\u00f6nnen Schiffe \u00fcber einen Kanal von der Nordsee bis zum Schwarzen Meer gelangen. Kaum ein Bauwerk in Bayern st\u00f6\u00dft seinerzeit wohl auf so viel Widerstand wie der Main-Donau-Kanal. Sein Vorg\u00e4nger, der Ludwig-Donau-Main-Kanal, wird auf Gehei\u00df von K\u00f6nig Ludwig I. gebaut und 1846 nach zehnj\u00e4hriger Bauzeit er\u00f6ffnet. Allerdings floppt der Wasserweg schon kurz, nachdem die Beifallsst\u00fcrme verebbt sind.<\/p>\n<p>Dabei ist die Idee genial, vernetzt die 172 Kilometer lange Wasserstra\u00dfe doch den Main bei Bamberg mit der Donau in Kelheim und damit Bayern mit \u2013 so muss es sich damals zumindest angef\u00fchlt haben \u2013 dem Rest der Welt. Die Handelskammer begleitet den Diskurs rund um den neuen Wasserweg, der sich zun\u00e4chst gegen\u00fcber dem Transport auf Schienen emanzipieren muss. Und sie vermittelt zwischen Politik und Wirtschaft.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-3 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-flex-column\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;--awb-width-large:100%;--awb-margin-top-large:0px;--awb-spacing-right-large:1.92%;--awb-margin-bottom-large:0px;--awb-spacing-left-large:1.92%;--awb-width-medium:100%;--awb-spacing-right-medium:1.92%;--awb-spacing-left-medium:1.92%;--awb-width-small:100%;--awb-spacing-right-small:1.92%;--awb-spacing-left-small:1.92%;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-justify-content-flex-start fusion-content-layout-column\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-5\"><p>Mit wesentlich mehr Enthusiasmus wird 1835, also einige Jahre fr\u00fcher, ein anderer Transportweg begr\u00fc\u00dft: Der \u201eAdler\u201c zeigt schon bei seiner Jungfernfahrt zwischen N\u00fcrnberg-Pl\u00e4rrer und F\u00fcrth gro\u00dfes Fortschrittspotenzial. Die Eisenbahn wird zum Motor der Industrialisierung. Ludwigs Kanal dagegen ist bald dem Untergang geweiht. Zu schmal ist er, zu flach und zu viele Schleusen hat er. F\u00fcr die immer gr\u00f6\u00dfer werdenden Schiffe wird die Durchfahrt bald zum Risiko. Schiffe, die durch den Kanal passen, haben dagegen zu geringe Ladekapazit\u00e4ten.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-4 fusion_builder_column_2_3 2_3 fusion-flex-column fusion-animated\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;--awb-width-large:66.666666666667%;--awb-margin-top-large:0px;--awb-spacing-right-large:2.88%;--awb-margin-bottom-large:0px;--awb-spacing-left-large:2.88%;--awb-width-medium:100%;--awb-spacing-right-medium:1.92%;--awb-spacing-left-medium:1.92%;--awb-width-small:100%;--awb-spacing-right-small:1.92%;--awb-spacing-left-small:1.92%;\" data-animationType=\"fadeInLeft\" data-animationDuration=\"1.0\" data-animationOffset=\"top-into-view\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-justify-content-flex-start fusion-content-layout-column\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-6\"><p>Die Investitionsruine h\u00e4lt Mutige aber nicht davon ab, schon bald die Planung eines neuen Kanals in Angriff zu nehmen. 1892 gr\u00fcndet sich der Verein zur \u201eHebung der Kanalschifffahrt in Bayern\u201c, beim dem die Handelskammer ein umtriebiges Mitglied ist. Mit der Realisierung des Kanals begonnen wird aber erst 15 Jahre nach Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs, erst 1992 ist er komplett fertiggestellt. Mit an Bord ist wieder die IHK N\u00fcrnberg, die ab 1966 zudem mit Tatkraft das Projekt \u201eHafen\u201c in N\u00fcrnberg unterst\u00fctzt, der sich heute als wichtiges G\u00fcterverkehrszentrum f\u00fcr ganz S\u00fcddeutschland pr\u00e4sentiert \u2013 eine Drehscheibe f\u00fcr die Verkehrstr\u00e4ger Wasser, Schiene und Stra\u00dfe.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-7\"><p>Sich einsetzen f\u00fcr optimale Verbindungen, das ist bis heute ein zentraler Auftrag der IHK N\u00fcrnberg f\u00fcr Mittelfranken. In ihrem \u201e12-Punkte-Programm Verkehr\u201c haben die Industrie- und Handelskammern der Metropolregion N\u00fcrnberg die vordringlichen Projekte und Vorhaben f\u00fcr eine zukunftsweisende Verkehrsinfrastruktur festgehalten.
